Kitty Pryde - This is what I imagine Kitty Pryde (otherwise known as Shadowcat from the X-men) might look like in real life. Drawn in Photoshop with a tablet and a reference photo of Emmy Rossum. I worked on it on and off for four days and I'm quite happy with the result. ^-^
Ocean - First artwork I've completed in 2012! :D This started out as a "speed painting" of my original character, Ocean, but ended up turning into a seven hour project. (Hehe, whoops. XD) I'm really pleased with the result, though. It is quite possibly the best digital realism drawing I've done to date.
Garrett - A portrait of my youngest nephew, Garrett. This was the first digital painting I completed with my new tablet and I'm very pleased with it. (My sister liked it, too -- it was her Christmas present! ^_^)
Sketch Dump I - A sketch dump mostly consisting of X-men fan art and various WIPs that I created with my new tablet. Some of these sketches may be turned into finished drawings in the future.
Kurtty - Just some X-men: Evolution Kurtty fan art. ^-^ I really like the look of gradient shading. I may do some more of that in the future.
Don't Cry, Katzchen - My OTP, Kurt Wagner and Kitty Pryde. This is my first comic Kurtty piece and it was by far the most challenging and frustrating thing I've drawn in awhile. It was sketched and roughly shaded on paper for texture, scanned into Photoshop, shaded in black and white, and colored digitally. Took seven nights and a lot of patience and caffeine to complete.
Rogue - Colored - The quickly colored version of the drawing below. I'm quite fond of it. :)
Rogue - A portrait of Rogue from X-men: Evolution. This was drawn/shaded on sketch paper using Derwent HB, B, and 2B graphic pencils, tissue, tortillions (Whoohoo! No more having to use Q-tips! ^-^), and a reference photo of the actress Elisha Cuthbert. It was then scanned into Photoshop CS4 Extended and shaded some more. =P Took a couple of days altogether. One of my favorite pieces yet.
Evolution - Kurtty, Romy, Jott - For an Art project, I'm drawing and coloring a huge group shot of X-men: Evolution characters in the Evo style. These are the characters I have completed so far. ^-^
Gambit - This was drawn on sketch paper using Derwent B, F, and 4B graphic pencils over the course of two days and then digitally colored with Photoshop CS4 Extended in a couple of hours. Almost all of the texture and shading you see was done on paper and not with Photoshop, which is probably why it looks so kooky. =P I really like how the skin and facial hair turned out (my first time drawing that!) but everything else is just... meh. ><
Evolution Project - Kurtty & Romy - For an Art project, I'm drawing and coloring a huge group shot of X-men: Evolution characters in the Evo style. Kitty, Kurt, Remy, and Rogue are the first four characters I have done. ^-^
Nightcrawler II - The colored version of one of my Kurt Wagner portraits. (See original drawing below. ^-^) I love this one and it took no time at all to color.
Nightcrawler - The colored version of one of my Kurt Wagner portraits. (See original drawing below. ^-^) I like it, despite its flaws. It only took a couple of hours to color.
Blood Passion - Fan art for the awesome Kurtty fanfiction story Blood Passion by Nightcrawler's Shadow. I absolutely adore this piece and I believe it is one of the best digital paintings I've ever done. =^-^= Took about two days to color it and a lot longer than that to draw the line art. =P (Which you can see below.)
Blood Passion [Line Art] - Some traditional pencil line art. (I was feeling way too lazy to bother using Photoshop's pen tool at the time. =P) This is fan art for the awesome Kurtty fanfiction story Blood Passion by Nightcrawler's Shadow. I am very proud to say that she likes it. :)
Kurt Wagner II - A portrait of Kurt Wagner from the X-men. Slightly inspired by the artwork from his solo series. I think I made him look way too boyish and pretty in this one. You just don't look at this picture and think, "EEEEEEKKK! IT'S A DEMON!! QUICK PHYLLIS, GET THE PITCHFORK!!" like you're supposed to. It's more like, "Hey, that blue guy kind of looks like that actor. What's his name? Oh, right. Jared Padalecki. How very... um... pretty." *facepalm* Anyway, it's drawn on sketch paper using Derwent HB, B, 3B and 5B drawing pencils, some tissue, Q-tips, and a reference photo of the actor Jared Padalecki. Took a day to complete.
Kurt Wagner - A portrait of my favorite fictional character, Kurt Wagner, otherwise known as Nightcrawler from the X-men. ^-^ Drawn on sketch paper using Derwent B and 3B drawing pencils, some tissue, a ton of Q-tips, and a reference photo of the actor Ben Barnes. =P It took about seven hours to complete, including a lot of breaks. I really like this one.
Kurtty Lineart - Some line art of Kurt Wagner and Kitty Pryde from X-men: Evolution. I just love these two. <3 Will be coloring this eventually.
Velvet + Strawberries - Tried out some new techniques in Photoshop after devouring a bunch of tutorials and this was the result. XP It's kind of a WIP, though, since I'm still thinking about making a proper background for it. Just not sure what would look okay... *ponders* The title comes from a Kurtty fanfiction story I'll be writing eventually (along with the 40 other fanfics I'll be writing eventually *is a procrastinator* XP) that really has nothing to do with the picture, but I thought it fit anyway.
Warmth - Kurt and Kitty sharing a moment on Kurt's bedroom balcony, overlooking Breakstone Lake. <3 I put a lot of time and effort into this and it turned out rather nicely, me thinks. ^-^ Of course, it would be better if the crazy looking forest-land-blobby-thingy in the background was less crazy looking and the thoroughly messed up lighting was less messed up, but other than that, I'm happy with it! Kurtty fanart, ftw!
Kirsten Lee - My eldest niece, Kirsten, Age 6. ^-^ I seem to have lost all my drawing pencils so I was forced to improvise. (After procrastinating, improvising is what I do best :D) I used a mechanical pencil and a regular ole #2, plus a tissue, three q-tips, and a paintbrush. Haha. You may notice that her eyes are a little strange, and that's because she's blind and her eyes tend to move independently of each other.
Jane - This was done shortly after Nicole. I used actual drawing pencils this time, a tissue, and a paintbrush oddly enough. Shading is much softer than I'm used to doing, but I actually don't mind it much. I got a little lazy with the hand toward the end *blushes* and the pearls and eye look kind of silly, but overall, I like the results. Took about three or four hours.
Nicole - So I was sitting around my house in utter boredom one night and suddenly realized that I hadn't drawn anything in over a year. So I figured, what the hay! I'll draw something right now! Roughly 2-3 hours, a pencil, a piece of paper, and a can of coke or two later, Nicole was born! If nothing else, this drawing serves as a reminder that going so long without at least practice sketching is never a good idea!
Vivid - I did this picture in high school the night before it was due. (Heck, I did every art project the night before it was due. There is a reason I was voted Biggest Procrastinator in the class of 08, you know.) It barely survived three moves and a year crunched at the bottom of a cardboard box, so that's why the scan is a little fudgey. I was very proud of it at the time I drew it though. I used everything from watercolor pencils to graphite pencils to charcoal pencils on this thing.
